One step forward

On the frothing wave of an offer of a new job I am starting this blog to record my thoughts about my new career in libraries. This Learning 2.0 program will help me to fill in some waiting time until I begin work on the first of August. My recent studies focused on how Web 2.0 technologies are being used in modern libraries but, being endlessly curious and an advocate of lifelong learning, I want to deepen my professional knowledge and indeed my personal insights into some of these tools I know about but have not yet used myself: RSS feeds, Wikis, Twitter, Flicker, mash-ups and the like. It can only help me, right?+
Blogs that speak to me tend to be professional in nature rather than personal journal-type writings. I have skimmed the occasional personal blog in a search for a particular recipe or how to sew on sleeve linings and have come across some fantastic information but I have little interest in following others' personal blogs and find it hard to believe anyone would follow a blog published by me. I am writing to myself. Do people follow others' personal blogs??
I shall have to find out.
Until we meet again, Jeharis.
